It’s not good bye, it’s see you later.

I may hate losing, but I’m not afraid of losing if it means that I am driving something greater around me. Plan B will continue to strive for unity in this great city. We will share more on "Plan B" soon, but rest assured, I’m not going away.

Traffic Wrecks Charlotte's Growth

The biggest drain on the growth of the city is the productivity of its workforce due to wasted commute times. I will work with the business community to establish transportation partnerships much like San Francisco has in place with Silicon Valley businesses, Google for example.  I will work to have some of the largest employers in the city invest in eco-friendly transportation options for their employees

"I don't even like Politics"

Politics isn’t as confusing as you might think. What it comes down to, is people connecting with people about things that matter to them directly on a daily basis. Things like… How can we bring more small business to Charlotte to help build our economy? How can we improve our transportation system so that we can all get places quicker? How can we make our city safer so that we don’t continue to see a rise in homicides? All these things are important, and by voting, you can choose leaders that share your vision.

Filing Day Press Conference

Filing day was an interesting experience for me. Our campaign had no intention of filing on the first day for our Charlotte City Council race. I wanted to bring our team and my wife so that we could appreciate the task at hand. We felt no need to celebrate yet or make this campaign about me. Why I am running, and why our team is so strong, is because of our conviction to do good in the community. It is not about us.

However our plans changed last minute. Leadership in the party had an incredible idea to do a press conference and show the city how united we have become as candidates. We believe that we can win our seats. We can drive positive change in our community, and

Why I'm Running For Charlotte City Council

Charlotte is at a crossroads.

What is our identity as a city? There are too many people in our community that claim to be leaders, who actually divide us by looking to serve their own self-interests. I believe that there is a desperate need for us to work together to bring back the focus that has been severely misguided by our current leadership. My interests as an At Large candidate for Charlotte City Council revolve around:

  • Strengthening our economic mobility and empowering small business owners.

  • The need for a solid infrastructure system so people can get to work and play more efficiently

  • The importance of publicly supporting our safety officials and first responders so that we can ensure the safety of every single person in Charlotte.

An important lesson I’ve learned in life

Is that you don’t have to agree with everyone in order to sit down and have a cup of coffee. We all have different perspectives and ways of seeing the world. We can come together as citizens of Charlotte and work together on the issues that directly affect all of us. I’ve had the opportunity to meet with hundreds on my journey for 10,000 coffees. I’ve had some of the most incredible, inspiring conversations as a result.  I don’t always agree

Did Wicked Weed Sell Out … or Did We?

As many of you know by now, a favorite Asheville brewery and tap room has officially sold to Anheuser-Busch. There are those who feel that this is a sellout position, and that the owners capitalized on Anheuser-Busch’s push to take over Craft Freedom. At this point, many of you are wondering how this relates back to Charlotte, or if I am going to take a strong position on Wicked Weed capitalizing on their right to make a profit from someone who wants to buy their brand. That’s neither my place or my style.

I am a strong believer in keeping Charlotte’s relationship with the state intact. Its proven time and time again to be detrimental to Charlotte if our relationship sours.  My campaign stance in running for Charlotte City Council is to do right by the city and that will require working with the state rather than against it.
